Oh yeah the Aphex 9000 series, forgot.
And then there's the whole Allison Research /Gain Brain /Kepex/Valley People family of stuff too... I used to have a rack of those Allison Research dynamic modules they were pretty sweet compressors. |

made those cool compressor/limiters (I have two NOS sitting unused) and flangers and auto-phasers etc. Anyone know more about these? Did they ever make their own rack or where they designed to slot into a console or other box from that era??

Amek had some modular stuff too. The CL01 Limiters are very nice. Couldn't find a better pic... don't know anything about them other than I used a pair in a studio on a mix years ago. The rack was called the RM01 Rack system and could house the M2500 equaliser, CL01 compressor, BP01 bandpass filter... a bit of history/info here.

here you go. I have been trying to fathom a way to get them to fit in my lunchbox, that would be SUPER cool. I know they can meet the power requirements (I believe they require less) and the units sit in the LB perfectly but the screw holes are like a mm off. :-(
would need some kind of card adapter too... very shallow card so a ribbon cable or something could be fashioned. in the end may just be easier to build a custom box like most do for these oddballs. they are great for that destrukto krush "Levee Breaks" limiting for room mics and such. |

it appears that all three MXR "vertical" modules, Auto Flanger, Auto Phaser and Mini Limiter want single supply 15 to 30 DC volt, and required approx. 30 mA current.

Summit Audio made a small number of modular racks. They are very rare. I have a photo and/or brochure saved somewhere. Inward Connections made the Vac Rac Series. Those pop up once in a while. DW.

Yeah, Fletcher sold a pair of the MXR mini limiters for a steal before he split for Europe but I couldn't bring myself to drop any cash at the moment. C'est la vie. If I bought every good deal I find I'd be broke and moving in with my mom.
