I am looking for feedback from folks on the value and accuracy of including pricing in the database (http://lunchboxhero.com/500seriesdb.html).
I think it is a good reference for folks to have if we can make it work. But Nathan at Atlas Pro Audio, and others, have raised some very good points about its accuracy when publishing only MSRP. In turn, I have found it difficult to determine a base-level metric to use for the pricing. Hence, I have thought about removing the field. Or fixing it, but I'm not sure how.
What would folks like to see? MAP? MSRP? Equivalent weight in gold or bantam tt cables? :D
I can't promise what exactly we will do, but i would like to hear folks thoughts on this if you have any!
Please see this note (http://lunchboxhero.com/500seriesdb.html#pricing) so you get a more detailed sense of the challenges in making this fair for everyone...

In my opinion, it would be best to list the manufacturer's MAP price. MAP would be a better basis of comparison than MSRP. If you can get the thing in your hands for MAP, it makes sense to post MAP pricing.

This would be the FIRST time I would agree with you.

I am going to start to survey manufacturers for MAP pricing and shift it over to that. Thanks for the input folks!
Now, about that pesky exchange rate...

Not sure if this is the right place to post... but the Level-Or MAP is now $485 US.

MAP is good...as long as everyone plays by that same set of rules...
I will never buy a piece of gear that doesn't have an advertised price, nor do I play the 'bid games' on eBay...tell me how much the thing costs, and let me decide if its worth it or not...
Price is usually not in the top 3 reasons many of us buy things...value is, and we all know (I hope) price and value are not synonymous.
Sorry - was that OT?

nope...not in years....money is tight enough without the risks of eBay, and in all honesty, the whole concept is BS...
Tell me what you are asking...I'll tell you what I am offering...if the two match, we do business, if not someone compromises or no deal.
THAT is OT from everything, but that's just pretty much the way I try and do things....
Sorry - I had a VERY tough mix session today and am Mr Grumpy-pants...so sayeth the wife...but what does she know - look who she married.:D
